James W. Jarvis, Esq.
James W. Jarvis is of counsel to the Firm. Well known in the aviation industry and legal community, Mr. Jarvis represents airlines, aircraft and engine leasing companies, governments and individuals world-wide in complex commercial aviation transactions and all aspects of related litigation. Mr. Jarvis brings to RRPEV an extensive network in the aviation industry, including governmental authorities, technical experts, and specialized associate legal counsel around the world, providing clients with comprehensive global representation.
Mr. Jarvis is a member of the Florida Bar Association, International Bar Association, American Bar Association, Miami-Dade County Bar Association, Lawyer Pilots Bar Association, and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator. With more than 30 years of legal experience, he previously served as the vice-president and general counsel of Batchelor Enterprises (the Miami aviation conglomerate of the late George E. Batchelor) and has nearly 40 years of experience as a commercial pilot and all aspects of aircraft maintenance. Mr. Jarvis has long had an interest in aviation, beginning in the military where he served in the United States Marine Corps Air Wing. He is a decorated Vietnam veteran, where he served as a helicopter crew chief and maintenance check crew leader. Mr. Jarvis earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Biscayne College, now known as St. Thomas University.
